Five Heads of Tiamat (Trap)
{{DM}}
Five dragon heads of carved stone encircle a circular room of 30' diameter. Opposite the entrance, there is a door, guarded by a Prismatic Wall. The wall is generated by the five dragon heads.
Each dragon has a breath weapon, usable once per round, which it fires at anyone within the room that it can sense using an effect similar to the alarm spell. It cannot see into the ethereal plane; however, such creatures still cannot penetrate the Prismatic Wall. It does not fire on evil-aligned creatures of the Dragon type (or Dragonblood descriptor). It does not fire on one who is in physical contact with such a creature. Summoned creatures do not count; all such creatures are immediately attacked.
The breath weapons are as follows:
Red dragon head |
Cone of fire |
10d6 fire damage |
Blue dragon head |
Line of lightning |
10d6 lightning damage |
Green dragon head |
Cone of poison gas |
1d10 Con/1d10 Con |
Black dragon head |
Line of acid |
10d6 acid damage |
White dragon head |
Cone of cold |
10d6 cold damage |
The DC for all effects is 25. Reflex saves for half, except in the case of poison, in which there is a Fortitude save to negate (and another to negate the secondary damage one minute later).
Each dragon head has hardness 8 and 250 hit points. Destroying one head destroys a randomly-chosen color of the Prismatic Wall. Destroying all five automatically destroys the Prismatic Wall. If the wall is bypassed without the destruction of the dragons, it will be regenerated in 1d4+1 rounds.
